Katie Symonds, MPT

Katie is passionate about helping people get back to what they love. Her career started in sports therapy, motor vehicle accident rehabilitation, and work-related injuries. Over time, she has transitioned into hospital-based care in orthopaedics (i.e. total joint replacements), post-op heart and lung surgeries, chronic pain, and stroke recovery.
She has worked abroad in New Zealand and Australia, where she has gained valuable clinical experience, a broader perspective to patient care, and an appreciation for diverse healthcare systems.
Katie grew up in the Comox Valley, surrounded by nature and movement. Her background in gymnastics, along with a love of hiking and mountain biking, has shaped her values around the importance of staying active.
She is a strong believer in education, both continuing her own learning and helping patients understand their bodies, in order to optimize recovery.
Katie’s goal has always been the same: to support each patient’s unique journey toward recovery, all while maintaining a fun and supportive environment.
